On the average:

Attorney’s fee for the preparation of a simple patent application:
Utility Patent Application: $2,500 – $3,500
Design Patent Application: $500 – $1,000

The Patent Office charges non-negotiable application, filing, examination, and search fees. The basic fees are:
Utility Patent Application: $455 – $830
Design Patent Application: $255 – $510

Drawings costs: $300 plus (depending on the number of drawings required)

Novelty search: $500
